Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the searchable, online Communications Statistics Database of the Hungarian Communications Authority!

The Communications Statistics Database shows the situation of the sector through economic; telephone services, mobile telecommunication services, free-to-air broadcasting, program distribution, postal services, IT, and Internet data, and the data related to the official activities of the authority. The comparability and usability of the data is facilitated by international comparison.

One of the sources of the data featured in the publication is the information received from operators, which were collected within the framework of the National Statistics Data Collection Programme (OSAP), but the statistical data sets generated in the course of the activities of NHH (and its predecessors) will also be published. The economic and IT related data featured in the database are supplied by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HSCO), while the international data are derived from the registries of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the Universal Postal Union (UPU) (the detailed list of sources used is always available under the individual chapters).

With a few exceptions, the data reflect the year-end situation. According to our plans, after the data sets of the previous year are collected and processed, the annual data are published in the course of the monthly updates on the 20th of every month (due to the nature of the industry, there can be considerable changes in the communications sector in the period between the dates when data collection is closed and the data is published).

This free service is a modern continuation of the earlier Communications Statistics Almanac. It contains all the information collected and published in the Almanacs. We hope that this service will be useful for those who wish to follow the changes happening in the communications sector, but we also recommend it to people who are engaged in in-depth research, market analysis, education or writing a master's thesis.
